Emma Roberts plays Uma who was sent by her mother to a mysterious treatment center for rebellious young women - Paradise, located on an isolated island. The director of the facility, The Duchess, played by Milla Jovovich, a close resemblance to the Red Queen, spends her time lounging and cutting thorns from roses in the labyrinth rose gardens while overseeing the girls' transformations into the better version of themselves. The rebellious and non-conforming spirit of Uma does not let her get fooled by the bizarre Alice-in-wonderland-like environment, she is on a mission to escape and makes friends with other girls - together, they unite and plot their escape while unraveling the dark secrets of the program.
